What is a bathrobe used for?

  • bathrobe is a must-have item. Not only are they extremely comfortable and warm, but they are practical in so many ways, making them a great addition to anyone’s daily routine. With our large collection of bathrobes, we have a robe that is suitable for everyone.
  • The most popular use of a bathrobe is for drying and covering the body after bathing. They are great for anyone looking for a quicker way to dry or who feels that a bath towel is not providing them with enough coverage, but most importantly they help your body to keep warm.
  • If you are looking for a soft bathrobe to dry yourself off with, then we recommend you shop our Hotel Soft Touch Egyptian Cotton Terry Towelling Bath Robes as they are made from thick and warm cotton, and are very absorbent. Bathrobes are also a great way to keep you warm before or after bathing as you carry on with other tasks, as, unlike a blanket, you can easily move around in a bathrobe.
  • For maximum warmth, we definitely recommend going for an easy-to-care-for microplush bathrobe. Finally, bathrobes are also just great to just lounge around the house in. Whether that's when you are making your morning coffee or relaxing around the house, bathrobes are such a luxurious and comfortable way to start or end your day.

How often should you wash a bathrobe?

  • We recommend washing your bathrobe every 3 to 4 weeks, or at a minimum once a week. If something is accidentally spilt onto your bathrobe then be sure to give it a wash straight away not just to keep it clean and hygienic, but also stains that are left for too long become difficult to remove.
  •  Routinely washing your bathrobe will prevent the growth of mould and bacteria keeping your bathrobe fresh. We also recommend that you avoid using fabric softeners as not only can it irritate the skin, but fabric softeners are full of silicones, which will coat the individual fibres making particularly terry-towelling bathrobes not as absorbent.

What size bathrobe should I get?

  • When choosing your bathrobe size you want to ensure that it is loose enough so you have maximum mobility and unrestricted movement in it, but also snug enough so that it will not slide off your shoulders or require you to constantly readjust the belt. We recommend taking the following measurements and comparing them with our size guide.
  • First of all, the length of a bathrobe is the measurement between the collar, which sits at the neck and the hem, which is closest to your ankle. You want to make sure that the bathrobe is long enough to keep your legs warm and covered, but also not too long so that it drags along the floor. When comparing the width of bathrobes, keep in mind that this is the circumference of the bathrobe skirt. Ideally, you will want the width of the bathrobe to cover your waist, hips and legs comfortably.
  • We recommend measuring all three of these areas and ensuring that the bathrobe size fits the largest measurement with some space to move. Finally, the sleeve of the arm is the length from the shoulder seam and cuff, and it will all depend on how far down your arm or hand you like your sleeve to go.
