Flannel sheets are the best sheets for cooler winter nights. They're soft and cosy, but they also keep you warm. That's because the flannel is made of thicker cotton that has a denser weave than regular cotton sheets, so it traps more heat in your bed and keeps you toasty all night long.
There are alsomicrofibre flannel sheets available, which are less expensive than traditional cotton flannel sheets. And if you're looking for a whole new set of bedding, we have a wide range offlannelette quilt covers available as well!
What is the best flannelette to buy in Australia?
At the Manchester Factory, our most popular flannelette sheets that are available are theSienna Living Egyptian cotton flannelette sheets. Our luxury flannelette is made from pure Egyptian cotton, the finest type of cotton on the market.
Egyptian cotton is not only soft and long-lasting, but it's also breathable too, keeping you warm and dry at the same time. Featuring a 180GSM fabric makes these sheets an exceptional weight. They're thicker than your average flannelette sheets, making for a softer, even more, luxurious feel. These sheets are available assheet sets, fitted sheets, combo sets andpillowcases.
What is the best fabric / material for fitted Sheets?
Caring for your flannelette properly is so important to prevent any shrinkage or pilling. Pilling occurs when fibres are broken and tangled, causing them to ball up on the surface of the fabric. It is usually caused by excessive friction or abrasion from the flannelette rubbing on itself. Luckily, avoiding pilling is quite easy.
Simply wash your flannelette on a cold gentle wash cycle with a gentle detergent, and do not use bleach. Most importantly, do not tumble dry or dry clean. Not only will the dryer shrink your sheets, but it will also damage the fibres of your flannelette and cause pilling. By leaving your flannelette to air dry, you will help extend the life of your flannelette sheets as you will not be wearing them out in the dryer.
We also recommend that you do not use fabric softener as over time it will cause your flannelette to stiffen up. This is because fabric softeners are full of silicones that coat each fibre. While your sheets may feel softer at first, eventually this silicone will build up and stiffen the fibres. If you are looking for flannelette sheets that are soft and long-lasting check out our Sienna Living Egyptian Cotton Flannelette Sheet Set.
