How often should you wash sheets?

  • How often you should wash your sheets depends on how often you're sleeping on them. If you're sleeping in the same bed every night, it's a good idea to wash your sheets once per week or even fortnightly more regularly if you are a hot sleeper or pets are in the bed. This will keep your bed comfortable, clean, and fresh. Read more: Ultimate Washing & Care Guide

What are the sheet set size options?

  • Choosing the right bed sheets for your mattress is essential for a comfortable and restful sleep. To ensure the perfect fit, it's important to consider the size and depth of your mattress. Let's explore the sizing options available for each type of bed, how to measure your mattress accurately, and other factors to consider when selecting bed sheets.

What are Egyptian cotton sheets?

  • Egyptian cotton is defined as sheeting woven from long-staple fibres and finished in a smooth, crisp sateen weave. The fabric of Egyptian cotton sheets is known to be durable wash after wash and breathable - allowing body temperature to escape naturally as you sleep - and will soften as it ages. If you're in search of the perfect sheet set for daily use, we highly recommend considering the Amor 1000 Thread Count 100% Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set Range

Do you sell crisp hotel quality sheets?

  • Our recommendation for crisp cotton sheets is the traditional Actil First Line bed sheet range. The Actil First Line Cotton Sheets are made with a muslin weave and have been a classic staple in the bedding industry since the 1940s. Actil sheets are very durable and come with a 5-year / 130 washes wash warranty which makes these sheets an favourite

What is thread count and is it all important?

  • At the end of the day it does come down to personal preference on whether you prefer the thread count or the fabric of the sheets. A popular misconception about thread count is that the higher the thread count, the better the sheet.
  • The thread count is calculated by adding together the numbers of lengthwise (warp) and width wise (weft) threads within a certain area. For example, a cotton sheet with 200 warp threads and 200 weft threads in each square inch of fabric would have a listed thread count of 200.
  • There are many factors to take into consideration when purchasing sheets and it's more than just thread count.
  • Things like quality, fabric weight, and durability also contribute to the overall quality of the sheets.

What is pilling?

  • Pilling is what we call the small little balls that you may notice on natural fabrics such as cotton and bamboo after you wash or use them.
  • Pilling is caused by excess heat (washing in hot water or using hot heat in the dryer), abrasion from continual friction or rubbing (body stubble, long nails, washing with other hard fabrics), and harsh chemicals (detergents, bleach, fabric softener).

Why blend bamboo with Egyptian cotton?

  • Our Sienna Living Bamboo Egyptian cotton sheets are blended with Egyptian cotton with bamboo which increases durability, and helps the bamboo sheets to hold their shape.
  • Some bamboo sheets are made without a sateen weave and with cheap cotton blends. The best bamboo sheets have both a sateen weave and an Egyptian cotton blend.
