What is the difference between a glass, a cup and a mug?
The easiest way to differentiate between a glass, cup and a mug is by their form. To start, the function of a cup and a mug is essentially the same. They are both generally intended to hold hot drinks. However, a cup will typically be smaller in size than a mug as they are intended to rest on a saucer.
Mugs on the other hand are larger and more deep cups and may or may not have a handle, or ear. If you are looking for something to hold cold drinks, then it is a glass you are after.
A cheese board that is properly cared for and cleaned will last a good while. Give your cheeseboard a good wash after each use. To do so, just wipe clean with a damp cloth or scrub in gentle circular motions with a soft sponge and warm water and a gentle detergent. It is important to limit how much water your board is being exposed to as wooden cheese boards are porous, and if it absorbs a lot of water it can harm the wood and warp.
We recommend against soaking your cheeseboard or using the dishwasher. Not only can washing your cheeseboard in the dishwasher warp the board, but the glue may break down in between the boards from the heat. Let it air dry in an upright position overnight to prevent warping also.
When storing, leave it somewhere with good airflow to prevent mould, and avoid leaving it in direct sunlight as the heat will cause the board to warp or even split. Finally, always be sure to avoid placing hot items directly onto the cheeseboard as it may split the board.
